COVID-19 INFORMATION UPDATE 13/07/2020
The First Minister has announced that dental practices can start to see routine patients from 13th July 2020.
This means that dental practices will be open for their own patients but still with restrictions upon the care available.
We can see urgent patients for pain, infection, trauma or a worrying patch in the mouth and some patients for specific treatments. Check-ups can be done but these will be limited as dentists are not yet allowed to use air to dry the teeth or to carry out drilling and filling or other restorations, as any procedure that generates an aerosol (water droplets in the air) is still not allowed.
We will provide patients a safe environment where physical distancing can be applied, and have all been provided the appropriate PPE (personal protective equipment) for each patient. This ensures patient and staff safety but will restrict the numbers we can see in a day.
